New curricula for Grades 9 & 12 under implementation this academic year

During the inauguration ceremony of the new curriculum central level course on 4 May, the MoE Union minister announced that in the upcoming academic year of 2023-2024, Grade-9 and Grade-12 classes would be instructed with new curricula.
Since the commencement of the 2016-2017 academic year, the novel KG+12 curriculum has been integrated. In the present academic year, Grade-9 and Grade-12 classes will be instructed with new curricula, signifying the complete adoption of the new curriculum across all classes. The new Grade-9 and Grade-12 curricula are designed to be directly taught by university professors who have written them, and the central level coaching course is opened for professors and associate professors, said Union Minister Dr Nyunt Pe.
A total of 1,279 professors, associate professors and 200 basic education teachers from universities attended the central-level training. The Grade-12 new central-level course at the Naypyitaw State Academy and the new Grade-9 curriculum central-level coaching course will be conducted for seven days from 4 to 10 May at No 6 Basic Education High School in Nay Pyi Taw. — TWA/KZW
