The opening ceremony of the new charging station for electric vehicle constructed by Yar Zar Min Industry Co Ltd was held yesterday morning at the station located between 35th street and the Strand road in Mandalay City.
The event was attended by chairperson of the work committee for EV using and implementation of infrastructures, Deputy Minister for Construction U Win Pe, Mandalay City Mayor U Kyaw Hsan, Mandalay Region Minister for Transport U Aung Zaw Oo, and personnel from the Ministry of Construction and the company.
The Deputy Minister explained at the event that a total of 31 locations were chosen for the pilot project as per the guidance by the national-level committee for development of EV and related businesses in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay and on the Yangon-Mandalay expressway as following: six stations in Nay Pyi Taw, eight stations in Yangon, eight stations in Mandalay and nine stations on the Yangon-Mandalay expressway.
This newly opened EV station is known as the 20th station across the country. The EV charging stations located in Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay cities can charge ten small vehicles simultaneously whereas the EV charging stations on the Yangon-Mandalay expressway can charge ten small vehicles and four buses at the same time. It is expected that more EVs can be used in Mandalay and surrounding areas thanks to this newly opening station.
What is more, an official from Yar Zar Min Industry Co Ltd explained the construction of the station. And the station was officially opened and photos were taken.
In the afternoon, the Deputy Minister inspected other construction projects in Mandalay such as construction of the Central Bank of Myanmar (Mandalay branch), Taguntaing Tollgate, Ohtoketan mini tollgate, and Sagar-in tollgate, C junction tollgate and Theegon tollgate on Yangon-Mandalay expressway. The Deputy Minister also visited the EV charging station which is being constructed by Yar Zar Min Industry Co Ltd at the Milepost No 284 on Yangon-Mandalay expressway. — MNA/TMT
