New Year Message of greetings delivered by Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on the New Year occasion in 1384 Myanmar Era Myanmar New Year Day, 2nd Waning of Tagu 1384 ME 17 April 2022

On the occasion of transitioning the old year to the new one, I wish all ethnic national brethren residing in the Union mental and physical well-being.
Looking back on the one-year experiences, we all overcame challenges and difficulties triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic and political crises based on intentional violations instead of honest democracy on the path of multiparty democratization.
I had expressed my belief in the previous year’s New Year Message of Greetings that we would overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic through the collaboration of the people. The year 2021 was the worst in the outbreak of COVID-19 in our country, which overcame various kinds of difficulties. However, many global countries, including neighbouring countries, are still facing the high infection rate of the pandemic. As we cannot say that the globe is totally free from the pandemic, I’d like to urge you all to strictly abide by the rules and regulations to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year is the pre-year of the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day. So, we have to make utmost efforts to enjoy the fruits of Independence and democratic administration fully. Hence, this year is identified as the Year of Peace. We are trying our best to restore the peace and tranquillity of the entire nation.
I’ve two national visions—
1. to ensure peace and prosperity of the State
2. to guarantee food sufficiency of the State.
The whole Union must be peaceful and prosperous. Everybody must have proper livelihoods with the capacity to keep abreast of other countries.
We need to manage the food sufficiency in the entire nation by utilizing underground and above ground natural resources.
The strength of the nation lies within. I will strive to do my best through the power of the people. I absolutely believe that it would be successful.
On the occasion of the auspicious New Year 1384 ME, we have to repair the disadvantages of the previous year and improve the advantages with a plan to serve the interests of the State and the citizens.
I wish all ethnic national brethren of the Union serving the Union interests healthy and happy this year in harmony with us.
