Magway Region Development Committee will build a night market on the river-side road starting from the first week of June in Magway, according to U Htin Aung, Director of the MRDC.
The night market will be 96-metre-long from the “We Love Magway” place on the Magway river-side road, and a 12-metre concrete floor will be built on the river bank.
“After building the concrete floor, the night market included necessary businesses will be made on it. It also aims to increase employment opportunities and income for locals through the night market, he said.
U Hla Myint, a resident, said, “We can enjoy the beauty of the river with the family and enjoy local products and foods in one place. It will be a popular destination for tourists from other areas.”
The night market will have about 50 stalls, including food stalls and shops selling local products and souvenirs. There will also be a parking lot and a restroom beside the Kyaut Tha park connected to the night market. The construction project is expected to complete in the current FY.—Kay Tar/GNLM
