The opening ceremony for upgrading of No (2) Industrial Training Centre (Mandalay) was organized in Mandalay Region yesterday (in picture).
During the event, Union minister Dr Charlie Than of the Ministry of Industry said there should be peace to develop a country and the citizens also have proper knowledge and education. Only developing vocational education can improve the socio-economic status of the people. Nowadays, vocation training plays a key role day by day.
The ministry establishes eight industrial training centres in eight regions and states with the supports of partner organizations and produces about 1,000 skilled workers yearly. Moreover, it also conducts three-month training courses and mobile training for industrial and vocational educations.
The No (2) Industrial Training Centre (Mandalay) offered four subjects to 160 trainees in a year previously and if the upgrade works completed, the two new subjects will be added and it can offer six subjects and produce 240 skilled workers per year.
The Union minister also expressed words of thanks to the Chinese government for providing for the development of Myanmar’s TVET sector and Chinese experts of Zhongmei Engineering Group Ltd., which will do upgrade works on the training centre.
Then, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai talked about the boosting of cooperation work in Belt and Road Initiative, sharing of China’s industrial knowledge, high techniques and policy-making matters under the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor to develop the industry sector of Myanmar and continuous supports to improve the socio-economic status of Myanmar via bilateral relation of two countries and to produce skilled workers from TVETs.
The Union minister and guests to the event inspected the upgrade works of training centres.
The Union minister visited Myotha Industrial Park in TadaU Township at noon.
During the visit, the officials of the industrial park reported on the implementation of an industrial zone and future work plans.
The Union minister instructed the necessary things and inspected the SKD car assembly processes of Gold Aya Motors International Group Co., Ltd.
Finally, the Union minister discussed with the Chinese Ambassador to produce Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines at the Pharmaceutical Factories under the Ministry of Industry. — MNA
