No instructions announced yet to suspend pharmaceutical distribution, manufacturing industries

The Ministry of Health and Sports issues orders for the prevention and control of COVID-19 disease but has not yet released any orders to impose a ban on the production and distribution of medicines and medical supplies.
The ministry has only released Stay-at-Home orders in 2021 for the prevention and control of COVID-19 disease exercising the authority under the Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases Law.
The order of the State Administration Council declaring that the two weekdays linked to the public holidays are designated as public holidays for the effective prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 infection did not mention the closure of the production and distribution of medicines and medical equipment.
The announcement stated that the public must abide by the rules (c) to open shops selling medicines and medical equipment and (e) to continue to provide healthcare services (government hospitals, private hospitals and clinics).
However, the demand for eggs is high in the market due to the spread of rumours.
Therefore, the ministry also released the public notice for the egg-substitute food such as lentil, chickpea, Muthira, peanut, bean curd, banana, potato, milk, sweet potato, chicken and variety of fish. —Htet Hlan/GNLM
