Officials arrange transportation for 142 returnees from Thailand

A total of 142 returnees from Thailand who have tested negative for COVID-19 came back home through the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge (2), Tachilek, Shan State (East) on 30 September (yesterday).
Officials arranged free transportation for all the returnees by vehicle to reach their respective states and regions yesterday morning.
Those returnees were extradited from Thailand on 25 September.
With the supervision of the Prevention, Control and Treatment Committee for COVID-19 in Tachilek District, the returnees were diagnosed by RDT Rapid Test Kit for the first time.
On the third day of quarantine at Wamlone Centre, nasal and palate samples of the returnees were taken and sent to Taunggyi for a second diagnosis.
According to the test results, the COVID-19 virus was detected in 57 repatriated people and they will stay in Wamlone COVID-19 Centre to receive further medical treatment.
Next, officials underwent a second medical examination and a total of 142 people – 78 males and 64 females—tested negative for COVID-19.
