Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Dr Aung Zeya inspects research process at Chemical Technology Research Centre on 18 August.

The Chemical Technology Research Centre, a part of the Department of Research and Innovation under the Ministry of Science and Technology, is providing training to MSME food entrepreneurs, transferring technology, and supplying raw materials, as well as purchasing finished products through the Lancang-Mekong Special Fund Project (2020). Yesterday morning, Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Dr Aung Zeya visited the centre to observe its operations.
The deputy minister met with officials and young researchers in a friendly manner, addressing their needs to ensure a positive working environment.
The head of the centre then explained the benefits of the Lancang-Mekong project’s technical cooperation, particularly in preserving value-added food products without losing their original colour, aroma, and taste.
The deputy minister urged the responsible personnel to focus on developing value-added food industries using local raw materials and ensuring that these products are suitable for both domestic consumption and export. He also emphasised the importance of transferring research results and technologies to entrepreneurs.
Additionally, he encouraged them to prioritize activities that directly benefit the socio-economic development of the people, in line with public service demands.
He also awarded officials and new generation researchers for their efforts in doing research works. — MNA/TKO
