Olympics Qualifiers preparations: Myanmar to test Thai squad

The women’s national football teams of Myanmar and Thailand will play two friendly matches next week at the MandalarThiri Stadium in Mandalay, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.
The matches are part of team Myanmar’s preparations for the upcoming third round of qualifying matches for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, for which Myanmar has been placed in Group A with the world-class South Korean squad and 2019 SEA Games gold medalist Viet Nam.
The Myanmar women’s national football team arrived in Mandalay on Sunday to train ahead of the friendly match with the Thai team.
Myanmar women footballers trained yesterday morning at the National Football Academy and in the afternoon at the MandalarThiri Stadium in Mandalay.
The Thailand national football squad also arrived in Mandalay yesterday afternoon, and the team will also have a training session today, according to the Myanmar Football Federation. The friendly matches will be played on 25 and 28 January, and entry to the matches will be free, according to a statement issued by the MFF. —Lynn Thit (Tgi)
