One member of Defence Services confirmed COVID-19 positive

One of the members of Defence Services who recently returned back from India has tested COVID-19 positive, according to the statement of Tatmadaw True News Information Team. The statement released on 27 and 28 June said that the military personnel returned from India via military flight after completing course on 26 June, and 7 out of 48 soldiers who were quarantined at Yangon Region Command area tested positive. On 3 July, 68 soldiers who had contacts with the two COVID-19 positive soldiers were under quarantine and their specimens were tested by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) at the 1,000-bedded Defence Services Hospital (2) in Mingaladon and one soldier was confirmed positive. This confirmed case is now taking medical treatment at Defence Services Liver Specialist Hospital (Mingaladon) and is in good health condition.—MNA (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
