Ongoing applications for political party registrations

Political organizations seeking to form new parties are currently submitting applications to the Union Election Commission (UEC), stating the names of their parties.
As of today, 17 groups have applied for party establishment approval, and of these, 14 political parties have been granted permission to establish. Among the 14 approved political parties, the Unity and Development Party, led by U Khin Maung Oo, has submitted an application for registration with the UEC as a political party in accordance with Article 7 of the Political Parties Registration Law.
This application was filed within 30 days of receiving party establishment approval. Out of the 13 political parties that have submitted registration applications, 11 have already been approved for registration. At the same time, the UEC continues to verify the remaining applications to grant registration status, according to reports. – MNA/KZL
