Opening ceremony of computer training school held by Daw Khin Kyi Foundation

The opening ceremony for a computer training school, organised by the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation, was held yesterday morning at the school in Poppa Village, Kyaukpadaung Township, Mandalay Region. The school will provide free computer training.
Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Mandalay Region Chief Minister; U Shwe Ko, Pyithu Hluttaw representative; and Dr. Thant Thaw Kaung, Daw Khin Kyi Foundation committee member, opened the school with the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon.
This was followed by the presentation of certificates of honours. Dr. Zaw Myint Maung gave a speech of honour, following which Dr. Thant Thaw Kaung explained about the computer training school and the other works undertaken by the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation for the public. Next, Dr. Zaw Myint Maung presented three computers to the school, while U Toe, Mt. Poppa Lovers Association chairman, presented a lacquer ware picture of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. A certificate of honour was also presented to the China (Taipei) computer technology training centre — the donors of computers and their related accessories — by Dr. Thant Thaw Kaung. Mandalay Region Hluttaw representative U Aye Khaing delivered the note of thanks. The region chief minister and the ministers then inspected the computer training school. The computer training school was opened by the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation and has been teaching some 60 trainees, starting on December 7, 2017, in three groups of 20 trainees each. The trainees, both young and old, are from Kyaukpadaung Town, as well as Daungle, Thekone, Thanbo, Hsepauk, Poppa, Poppa Lun, Myauk Taw, Gyine and Kyauktaga villages in the Poppa region.
The region chief minister and the ministers then arrived at Basic Education High School No. (2), Kyaukpadaung Town, to inspect the status of the 272-feet long and 130-feet wide Bayintnaung School hall built in 1991, which has been designated as a dangerous building.
