Opening ceremony of 51st Myanmar Health Research Congress held

The opening ceremony of the 51st Myanmar Health Research Congress is in progress in Yangon yesterday.

The opening ceremony of the 51st Myanmar Health Research Congress was held at the Department of Medical Research, No 5, Ziwaka Road in Dagon Township of Yangon Region yesterday.
First, SAC Chair Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech via video message. The message of the Senior General is separately reported on Page 4.
Then, Union Minister for Health Prof Dr Thet Khaing Win said the ministry is making efforts to improve the health standard of people in accord with the guidance of the State Administration Council. The Health Research Congress being held today is a great legacy and congratulates the outstanding Myanmar health researchers. The theme for this year’s congress is “The Fight Against Zoonotic Diseases: A One Health Approach”.
The development of research work is directly proportional to the comprehensive development of the country and the Ministry of Health will provide assistance for the development of the research. It should conduct health-related research for the benefit of the country and its people. The researchers also work hard to express the findings in local and foreign research journals in addition to reading out the research to ensure knowledge sharing and management at the congress.
Then, Director-General Dr Zaw Than Tun of the Department of Medical Research delivered a greeting speech and took commemorative photos.
Afterwards, the Union minister, the Yangon Region chief minister and regional ministers, directors-general of the Ministry of Health, cectors and officials of the Defence Services Medical Research Unit observed the posters displayed. — MNA/KTZH
