Over 190 tonnes of illegal timbers seized across country

The Department of Forest of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation is implementing the detection and seizure of illegal timbers and forest products in a variety of ways, including the Community Monitoring and Reporting System (CMRS).
According to the data sent by the Forest Department, 134.9886 tonnes of illegal teak, 23.0544 tonnes of hardwood, and another 41.2958 tonnes, totalling 199.3388 tonnes of illegal timbers were seized with 28 suspects and nine vehicles between 13 and 19 June in regions/states and Nay Pyi Taw, according to the Department of Forest. — MNA
