Over 200 Japanese companies send labour demand letters

Myanmar receives Demand Letters from 206 Japanese companies for Myanmar migrant workers, according to the statement of the Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo.
The Myanmar Embassy reviews the Demand Letters sent by the Ministry of Labour via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a timely manner, it said.
The Japan-based labour supervising company inspect the factories and companies whether they exist in Japan or not and send the lists to the Ministry of Labour via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Myanmar workers between 100 and 500 are sent per month.
The Japanese government put Myanmar in the Blue colour group of COVID-19 on 1 June and the workers in Japan do not need to undergo quarantine. Japan set the entry ban and lifted the ban in early March 2022, and allowed the Myanmar workers under the law.
The Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo sent 94 demand letters to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 14 and 31 May, the statement added. — TWA/GNLM
