Over 7,800 people participate in MAB Run 2020 in Mandalay

The MAB Sayaungchel Run 2020, jointly organized by Myanma Apex Bank (MAB) and Mandalay Region Government, was held at 6 am yesterday in Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay.
Acting Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Zarni Aung and Mandalay Mayor Dr Ye Lwin also attended the running event which kicked off from the Hilton Hotel Mandalay at the corner of 26th Street and 66th Street.
Over 7,800 people including students from universities and basic education schools in Mandalay, and sportsmen took part in the 5-km running event which began from the corner of 26th Street and 66th Street and ended at Shwe Mann Taung Golf Course, taking along
the streets of 66th, 12th and 73rd.
All the participants at the event were presented with commemorative medals. Entertainments by well-known artists and free foods were also provided at the endpoint.
With the cash that was received by selling the run tickets, officials from MAB donated K 18.5 million for development of Myanmar education sector and K 100 million for urban development in Mandalay, and the Mandalay Mayor and an official accepted the cash.—Mg Pyi Tu (Mandalay) (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
