On 11 November, prominent pagodas in Dawei Town, including the Shwe Taung Sar pagoda, welcomed large crowds of local residents and visitors from other states and regions. The visitors offered flowers, water, and candles to Lord Buddha.
“Today is the Tazaungdaing full-moon day, and more pilgrims thronged the pagodas today than on normal days. Some visited the pagodas with their whole family because both schools and offices are closed. There were also a few tourists visiting the pagodas,” said U Kyaw Win, chairman of the Shin Pin Khayu pagoda board of trustees.
Moreover, some historical and significant pagodas and resorts were also crowded with visitors. The public holiday is from 9 to 12 November. So, civil staff from Dawei and their families and visitors from other states and regions visited significant spots.—Dawei (IPRD)
