Pagodas in Nay Pyi Taw Council area crowded with charitable donors on Full Moon Day of Kason

Every year, Buddhists consider the full moon day of Kason as a special day, offer water to Bodhi (banyan) trees, keep Sabbath, practise meditation, and do good deeds such as food donation and charity.
Uppatasanti Pagoda, Buddha Gaya (Nay Pyi Taw), Maha Thelakyaramsi Pagoda, Yanaungmyay Shwelathla Pagoda, Dardusara Pagoda, Eternal Peace Pagoda, Yanaung Chantha Pagoda, Hlaykhwin Hill Pagoda, Koe Nawinn Pagoda, Sutaungpyae Lawka Marazein Pagoda, Samsara Nyeinaye Pagoda, Phayakoesu Pagoda, Lawkayannein Pagoda, Phaungtaw Chatma Pagoda, Letlode Hill Pagoda and other famous pagodas and monasteries in the township were crowded with devotees yesterday.
“I came with my friends because the full moon day of Kason is a special day for Buddhists. India, is a place where Gautama Buddha was born,” said Ma Thoon Yadi Phyo, a visitor.
“Although I could not visit the Sattasattaha in Bodh Gaya, I was overjoyed to see the Four Noble Truths in Bodh Gaya in Nay Pyi Taw.
I think everyone who comes to worship the Buddha will feel the same way. May all the people have overcome the three plagues and have health, wealth and happiness during this special day,” she added.
In addition, people feed the elephants at the Yadana White Elephant Conservation Park inside the Uppatasanti Pagoda. Nirvana shops and souvenir shops were also bustling with shoppers.
Similarly, Ocean Super Centre in Nay Pyi Taw, Junction Centre, Nay Pyi Taw Wholesale and Nay Pyi Taw Water fountain Park, Safari Park, National Memorial Garden, Hlaykhwin Hill Beach Resort and Mingala Lake are also bustling with visitors.
In the evening, the pagodas in the villages and the Mahabodhi tree have lamps and lanterns as people donated the oil lamps to the pagoda.
They also donated water and flowers to the pagoda and offered foodstuff for the visitors. Traffic police are assisting the pilgrims on the day of Kason La Pyay, and the Myanmar Police Force is providing security for the visitors, officials said. — Lulin Nge/GNLM
