Palethwe paddy yields more than 260 baskets per acre in Nyaungshwe Tsp


A 10-acre model plot of summer paddy on the farmland of U Shwe Ba in ThaleU village-tract in Nyaungshwe Township was harvested on 15 June.
Inn Ethnic Affairs Minister U Win Myint and officials praised the farmers for their efforts in cultivation of paddy to ensure local food sufficiency.
Head of Shan State Agriculture Department U Win Hlaing and Head of Township Department Daw Moe Thida Htaik explained the agricultural practices that yielded more than 200 baskets of Palethwe hybrid paddy per acre.
The local farmers harvested 148-day Palethwe paddy and produced 264.30 baskets of paddy per acre.–Nay Myo Thurein
