The Kaladan River Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project — the India-Myanmar friendship project in Paletwa Township, Chin State — and the road construction projects from Paletwa Township, Chin State, to Zorampur, were suspended in 2020 due to various reasons. However, the construction of the Paletwa-Zorampur road resumed on 25 December 2022.
The Paletwa-Zorampur road will be 27 feet wide and 109 kilometres long from the Paletwa Township to the Indian border. The companies that have won the tender for the road construction project — the K & DL Company, Su Htoo San Company, Shwe Mann Company, Future Creator Group Construction Company and Htet Shine Linn Company — will complete the construction of the road within five years. — Township IPRD/CT
