Pansodan-Dala ferry fares to increase from 1 August

Fares for the Pansodan-Dala ferry will be increased from K100 to K200 per person starting from 1 August, according to the statement of the Inland Water Transport. More than 1,000 passengers are commuted by three ferries every day from the Pansodan jetty to Dala and vice versa.
“Dala ferry fare and circular railway fare are the cheapest ones in transportation charges. “Thank you for charging the passengers at such a low rate. It should be also raised at a time when oil prices are high. The ferry fare is much cheaper than the boats, and it is also safer,” said U Thein Lwin, a resident in Dala.
Loading fees for bicycles and vehicles will not be changed at the moment, but the previous rates, K100 for a bicycle, K200 per rickshaw, and K800 per motorcycle will be charged.
Dala Township is located at a central point to go to the townships in the Yangon South District, Twantay, Kawhmu, Kungyangon, and the townships in Ayeyawady Region such as Pyapon, Dedaye, Bogale, Kyaiklat, and Maubin.
Cherry ferries from Pansodan-Dala jetties provide shuttle service to the public every day from 5:30 am to 9 pm every 20 minutes. — TWA/GNLM
