Paper-reading session on conservation of ancient cultural heritage continues

The second and final day paper-reading session on conservation of ancient cultural heritage took place at the Yinkyayhmu Yadana Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House) U Khin Aung Myint(Retd), Deputy Minister U Aye Tun and U Tun Ohn, Deputy Minister (Retd) Daw Sandar Khin and invited guests attended the paper-reading session.
In the morning, Daw Ohnmar submitted the paper on case study on the maintenance of fine arts works in the Bagan area, Daw Zar Zar Lin on experiences in the care of ancient buildings and Daw Khin Swe Win on records on inspection of the current situation of old buildings bearing mural paintings in Pinya-Inwa cultural heritage area.
In the afternoon, Daw Ei Thanda read the paper on seven sites for building the royal palace in the booth of Yadanarbon era, Daw Ohnmar Aung on the preservation of Bagan Ananda Temple in cooperation with ASI of India, U Ye Yint Oo on the renovation of Pagoda No 1239 in Bagan together with Cologne Institute of Conservation Science and Daw Hmu Sandar Khin on safeguarding measures of intangible cultural heritage. — MNA
