Parts of sitting marble Buddha image, throne conveyed to Nay Pyi Taw for seventh time

The seventh ceremony to convey the parts of Maravizara sitting marble Buddha image and throne to be built in Nay Pyi Taw took place in Simikhon Village of Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region yesterday morning.
Venerable monks, Lt-Gen Kan Myint Than of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Commander of Central Command Brig-Gen Ko Ko Oo and officials sprinkled scented water on the parts of the Buddha image and the throne, which will early leave for Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
On the agenda, the modular trailers carrying part-2 from the main marble rock for the sitting Buddha image weighing 570 tonnes and part-3 weighing 633 tonnes started departure at the auspicious time.
Chairman of Mandalay Region Sangha Nayaka Committee venerable Sayadaw of Pali-New Padetha Monastery from Masoeyein Monastery, Lt-Gen Kan Myint Than, the commander and congregation paid homage to the parts of the Buddha image.
The ceremony ended with a three-time recitation of Buddha Sasanam Ciram Thitthatu. —MNA
