PDF terrorists assassinate Deputy Director General of UEC in Thingangyun Township

So-called PDF terrorists under terrorist groups NUG and CRPH with the aim of deteriorating the administrative mechanism of the government and causing panic among the people, commit terror acts such as murdering, threat and intimidation and torturing monks and innocent people and civil servants.
At 2:30 pm on 22 April, U Sai Kyaw Thu, Deputy Director General of the Union Election Commission, residing at 11/B on the first floor of building on Waizayanta Road in Thingangyun Township was shot with twelve rounds of pistol by two terrorists, when he came back to his home after sending his wife to hospital by Honda Odyssey. Then, the two terrorists escaped to the north of Waizayanta Road.
U Sai Kyaw Thu got wounds at his right temple, left neck, right forearm and left ribs with bullet-hits and died on the spot.
The security forces sent the dead body to the Sanpya Hospital in Thingangyun Township. — MNA
