Swearing in ceremony of American Peace Corps Volunteers who’ll serve in Bago, Mon and Magway Region for two years was held at Summit Park View Hotel, Yangon yesterday morning.
The event was attended by Union Minister for Education Dr. Myo Thein Gyi, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, Magway Region Chief Minister Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, US Ambassador Scot Marciel, directors general from Ministry of Education, Peace Corps Volunteers, invited guests and officials.
The ceremony began with the singing of the national anthems of US and Myanmar followed with speeches delivered Peace Corps Myanmar officials, US Ambassador and Union Minister Dr. Myo Thein Gyi.
After the speeches Peace Corps Volunteers then swear in and on behalf of the Peace Corps Volunteers Tyler Shustarich and Anna Fisher spoke about Volunteer Reflections. The ceremony came to a close with an entertainment program performed by the Peace Corps Volunteers.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
