A launch ceremony for DVD production and distribution of 10 vocal contest winners of Peace Music Festival held by Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) under the Ministry of Information was held at Studio (A), MRTV office on Pyay road in Yangon at 2 pm yesterday.
Firstly, MRTV Director (Music) U Toe Kyaw said, “Peace Music Festival competition started in July 2017 and it went to 11 towns and held 22 competitions, one town per week. The last competition was held on 10 December 2017 at People’s Park. Selected songs began recording and filming in March 2018. Besides MRTV, external film directors also supported in the fliming. The DVD is ready for distribution. This is not commercial and we don’t give attention to profit and loss. We just intend to support the peace process with music.”
Songwriter U Myint Moe Aung explained regarding the winning songs included in the DVD and U Myo Swe from Excellent Music Distribution explained the status of DVD distribution.
The copyright holder for contested songs is MRTV and Excellent Music Distribution will start to distribute them on 24 February. The DVD will be available at Excellent Music Distribution, Myanma Radio and Television Yangon Office and Nay Pyi Taw Office, Departments of Information and Public Relations in respective Regions and States, at the price of K3,500.
The album will include all 18 tracks in DVD format and separated into 9 tracks in CD format. The 14 tracks were played by State Orchestra and contemporary music and the remaining 4 tracks were created by respective songwriters with their own bands.
