As anti-drug campaign is a national duty, people participate in exposing drug-related offences in public places, Commander of Mohnyin District Police Force Police Lt-Col Tun Tin Wai told the ceremony to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Seinle Yadana Hall, here, on 26 June. Brig-Gen Thet Lwin, Deputy Commissioner U Aung Soe Moe and officials presented prizes to winners in the high, middle and primary level painting, postern, cartoon and computer arts competitions.
A large number of people across the nation flow into Mohnyin to hunt jobs in jade and gold mining works in Mohnyin District. As a result, numbers  of cases related to narcotic drugs are rising year by year in the district. At present, about 350 drug-related persons are under arrest at Mohnyin police station.
