Phoo Pwint Yati Khaing wins golf championship in USA

Myanmar golfer Phoo Pwint Yati Khaing won the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship Women’s Individual championship, held in Florida, the United States. Phoo Pwint Yati Khaing scored 75 shots on the first round of the competition, 67 shots on the second round, and 76 shots on the third round. Thus she has scored 218 strokes in three round to win the championship.
The tournament was held at two golf courses, the first and third rounds at TPC Sawgrass Stadium and the second round at Valley Courses. Golf players from invited universities in the United States from PGA WORKS Collegiate competed in the golf tourney. With the win, she was allowed to enter the Symetra Tour directory without competing in the qualifiers.
Phoo Pwint Yati Khaing, a member of the Myanmar national golf team, is a student at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) in the United States, and in 2019, she won the CAA Women’s Golf Championship. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
