Police arrest undocumented persons in Pyay

Relevant departmental officials seized 37 undocumented migrants in the secret hiding place of the lorry at the Nawade bridge checkpoint in Pandaung Township of Pyay District.
A total of 33 men and four women were arrested at the Nawade bridge checkpoint of Pandaung Township at 10:30 am on 20 September. They were carried from the Pathein-Monywa Road of Minbu Township and they paid K40 million for each as fees to deliver them to Malaysia. The police force arrested the driver and make ongoing investigations.
Similarly, a suspicious person was found near the rice mill of Ngamyinchaung village in Myaungmya Township in Ayeyawady Region on 19 September. The result of the interrogation followed 26 men, 16 women and 25 under the age of 18 being detained. After detainees underwent COVID-19 tests, three of them were found infected.
Next, officials arrested 31 persons and five schooner men from the beach of Nwenyochaung village, Pathein Township in Ayeyawady Region on 18 September.
A total of 35 undocumented migrants were also captured in Pandaung and Okshitpin of Pyay district in June and July. — TWA/GNLM
