Police destroy poppy fields in Hsihseng and Mongphyat townships

Police Force in Southern Shan State destroyed 10 acres of 2 feet high still-fruiting poppy fields planted about 1 mile south of Tangyan village in Hsihseng Township, Pa-O Self-Administered Zone in Southern Shan State on 12 December 2020.
The poppy fields in Hsihseng Township have been destroyed since 25 September and there are a total of 142 acres destroyed as of 12 December, according to the Hsihseng Township Police Force.
Similarly, Police Force in Eastern Shan State destroyed two acres of 2.5 feet high still-fruiting poppy fields planted near Bufer Village in Mongphyat Township and another two acres near Nantwoohtaung Village in the same township, Tachilek District in Eastern Shan State on 12 December 2020. — Khun Ye Htwe (Hsihseng), Than Tun Aye (IPRD) (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
