Polish image of the State with victories in sports

Myanmar athletes with disabilities showcased their incredible skills and talent at the XII ASEAN Para Games, which took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from 3 to 9 June. These victorious athletes not only demonstrated their prowess but also uplifted the prestige of our nation.
The Myanmar sports contingent consisted of a total of 82 athletes. Among them were 10 male athletes participating in swimming, 25 male and female athletes in the track and field events, seven male and female athletes in weightlifting, 12 males in volleyball, six males in Goalball, two males in table tennis, six males in chess, and 14 males in football.
These remarkable athletes secured a total of 12 gold medals, 13 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals in the swimming events. In the track and field events, they earned three gold medals, six silver medals, and four bronze medals. In weightlifting, they won three silver medals and two bronze medals. Additionally, they claimed one bronze medal in Goalball and two bronze medals in chess. Overall, Myanmar received a total of 56 medals, securing the sixth position among the participating teams.
The athletes with disabilities demonstrated exceptional performances during their competitions. Despite facing physical or mental challenges, they refused to give up on their lives. Instead, they harnessed their remaining physical and mental abilities to benefit themselves and society. Through their participation, they showcased the remarkable capabilities of individuals with disabilities in serving the interests of our nation.
Every Myanmar athlete bears the responsibility of achieving victory in all sporting events as a national duty, striving to enhance the prestige of our country.
