President U Htin Kyaw was accorded a warm welcome by the President of Viet Nam and wife at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi yesterday.
Afterward, the President inspected the guard of honour, taking the salute.
Before the bilateral meeting at the presidential palace, the two Presidents and the First Ladies posed for documentary photos at the stateroom of the Presidential Palace.
At the meeting, President U Htin Kyaw and members, Vietnamese President Mr Tran Dai Quang and ministers and high-ranking officials, discussed promotion of bilateral relations, increased cooperation in economic and investment sectors and promotion of relations between the two countries’ armies. A joint communiqué was released about promotion of bilateral relations, economic cooperation, promotion in investment and trade sectors and cooperating closely under the framework of CLMV & ACMECS.
Following this, the President and party met with the team led by the Vietnamese Premier, discussing bilateral cooperation in the agricultural and fishery sectors and expansion of air flights.
The President also met with Mr Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party at the Party Headquarters.
At night, the President and wife attended the state banquet hosted by the Vietnamese President and wife.
In the morning, the President and wife Daw Su Su Lwin visited the ancient university in Hanoi, accompanied by officials from the Myanmar embassy to Viet Nam. — Myanmar News Agency
