President U Thein Sein on Tuesday met a Kayin delegation, which is here to attend a commemorative dinner for the 68th anniversary of Union Day, officials said.
President U Thein Sein had a cordial discussion with Saw Mutu Sae Po, Chairman of the Karen National Union (KNU), focusing on adding new momentum to ongoing peace talks and the speedy realization of public desires for stability and peace.
The president was accompanied by Union Ministers U Aung Min, U Khin Yi, U Than Htay and U Ye Htut, and Union Peace Making Work Committee Vice Chairman U Thein Zaw.
Also present at the call together with the KNU chairman were Pado Saw Kwe Htoo Win, Saw Isaac, Saw Htoo Htoo Lay, and Saw Damular. Group photos were taken after the meeting.
