President U Win Myint received outgoing Canadian Ambassador to Myanmar Ms Karen MacAuthur who has completed her tour of duty at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw at 10:00 am yesterday.
During the call the discussions focused on promotion of bilateral relations between the two countries, democratic transition in Myanmar, economic development, disaster rehabilitation, healthcare services and improvement in the role of women. They also discussed fostering cooperation in peace, stability and humanitarian issues.
The meeting was also attended by Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye and officials. —MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
