Public-private partnership is critical for public healthcare: MoHS

The Central Committee on Private Healthcare Service (1/2021) was held at the Ministry of Health and Sports yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw.
Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win, in his capacity as the committee chairman, pointed out the matters pertaining to the implementation according to the Private Health Care Law, the necessity for private healthcare to be responsible and to provide quality healthcare service, the importance of public-private partnership as most people working in the private healthcare sector are civil servants and health workers, the need to cooperate by the private healthcare service sector in resuming regular operations at public hospitals, and the necessity to abide by the set rules and regulations when civil servant health workers work in the private healthcare service industry.
He added that the Private Healthcare Supervision Committee would carry out inspections from time to time, and therefore, the entrepreneurs need to cooperate.
The meeting also discussed healthcare business licence application, field inspection to be done by the supervision committee, the development of the private healthcare sector, and the private healthcare business licences (revocation).
The Deputy Ministers, members of the Central Committee on Private Healthcare Service and special guests also attended the meeting.—MNA
