Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker shares parliamentary experiences with regional lawmakers

Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Win Myint met with lawmakers of the Taninthayi Region Parliament yesterday, calling on them to coordinate and cooperate with each other in order to bring better stability and the rule of law to the region.
Speaking on the occasion in Dawei, Taninthayi Region, the Speaker urged the lawmakers to carry out regional development tasks in their respective constituencies at a time when the parliament adjourns in coordination with authorities in order not to exceed the constitutional limits.
The three pillars of government — legislative, executive and judiciary — have checks and balances over each other to maintain the equilibrium of power but not to interfere in each other, said the Speaker, urging the lawmakers to strive to make the machinery parliament stronger.
Myanmar is in transition to democracy and to build a democratic country, MPs are to cooperate with each other with magnanimity, tolerance, forgiveness and mutual understanding in the best interest of the country and its people, he added.
He also urged the lawmakers to be mindful not to become law-breaking lawmakers, stressing the importance of practicing the checks-and-balances in accordance with the constitution and existing law and by-laws.
The MPs at the meeting and the Speaker discussed regional development tasks and measures undertaken in the parliament.
Present at the meeting were Speaker of Taninthayi Region Hluttaw U Khin Maung Aye, Vice Speaker U Kyi Soe, MPs from Pyithu Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw and from Taninthayi Region Parliament.— Myanmar News Agency
