Rakhine State Chief Minister convoy attacked with remote controlled mines

A convoy carrying Rakhine State Chief Minister was attacked with remote controlled mines on Yangon-Sittway road yesterday afternoon but no one was hurt.
Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu and party conducted regional development field works and was returning to Sittway from Kyaukpyu Township. At about 4:30 p.m. the convoy reached the approach pavement of bridge 1/106 between Nankya and Paungtote villages near Mrauk-U on the Yangon-Minbu-An-Sittway road when three remotely controlled improvised explosive devices (IEDs) went off simultaneously.
No one was hurt from the explosion but a windshield of a car and a side glass of another car were shattered.
