
Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu, State Minister for Social Affairs Dr Chan Thar and officials went by Tatmadaw helicopter from Sittway to villages in Maungtaw and Buthidaung townships yesterday and provided food and utensils to local people.
Rakhine State Chief Minister and officials also gave words of encouragement to the local people in Sin PhyuTaung and Wah Net Yone villages.
“Villagers who fled are returning home. As the government is providing food, we don’t need to worry about this. It is also convenient as there is security in the village.
Tatmadaw personnel are also taking care of us, including our health”, said Daw Than Nu, a Khami ethnic national of Sin PhyuTaung village.
In evening, the party gave words of encouragement and provided food and utensils to local people of Min KhaMaung village in Maungtaw Township.
Rice, cooking oil, salt, beans, chili, onions, fish paste, dried fish, solar lamps, soap, detergent powder and other supplies were provided.
