The Rakhine State government organized the opening ceremony of the Patthana recitation at Lawkananda Pagoda in Sittway Township yesterday.
The event was attended by State Administration Council Member Daw Aye Nu Sein, Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min, Western Command Commander Maj-Gen Htin Latt Oo, Chief Justice Daw Wah Wah Tun of Rakhine State High Court, state cabinet members, military personnel and departmental officials.
First, SAC Member Daw Aye Nu Sein and party donated the first meals to monks led by Rakhine State Ovadacariya Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Gandhavasaka Pandita Bhaddanta Nanda Siri of Nanda Yama Pariyatti Monastery.
After the opening procedures of the Patthana recitation ceremony, they took Five Precepts from Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nanda Siri.
Then, Rakhine State Ovadacariya Sayadaw of Dhamma Thukha Monastery, Joint Secretary of the Sittway Sangha Nayaka Committee Sayadaw of the Dekkhina Yama Monastery and lecturer Sayadaw of the Dekkhina Yama Monastery delivered sermons and recited Gatha.
Afterwards, Sayadaws, monks, SAC member and guests recited the Patthana. — MNA
