The Rakhine State Stability, Peace and Development Work Coordination Committee held a coordination meeting 3/2022 in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The meeting was attended by Committee Chair Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Vice-Chair 1 Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing, Vice-Chair 2 Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khine, committee members, deputy ministers and officials. The Rakhine State Minister for Security and Border Affairs joined the meeting via videoconferencing.
First, Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung talked about the ongoing work plans conducted by the four work committees including the coordination committee, ministries concerned and Rakhine State Government and better resolutions for the completion of current works and future work plans.
He also urged to accelerate the reception of displaced persons from Rakhine State and state development programmes and other measures to promote the security, socioeconomic status, economy, education and health sectors of locals.
Next, vice-chairs 1 and 2 reported on the peace, stability and socio-economic development in Rakhine State, readmission and resettlement of displaced persons, international cooperation, humanitarian assistance and relocation of the returnees.
Then, respective work committees and ministries gave explanations on immigration, preparations for readmission, cooperation with the United Nations and other international organizations, humanitarian assistance and utilization of the fund HARWC (Humanitarian Assistance and Resettlement Work Committee). — MNA/KTZH
