Rare literary heritage kept in libraries, archives of Lancang-Mekong countries to be maintained by Preservation and Conservation Network

The rare literary heritages kept in libraries and archives of Lancang-Mekong countries will be preserved and conserved, according to the workshop on Building Networks on Preservation and Conservation of Literary Heritage among Lancang-Mekong Area held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The network was established with Lancang-Mekong-Cooperation Special Fund. It can share the techniques and experiences of experts who operate the preservation and conservation of literary materials and will develop the management on better preservation and conservation.
At the event, the six Lancang-Mekong countries respectively read papers related to rare materials in libraries and archives, management of literary heritages, conservation with the use of modern methods and preparedness for natural disasters for rare materials in libraries.
The Lancang-Mekong-Cooperation aims at bolstering the economic and social development of the Sub-regional countries, enhancing the well-being of their people, narrowing the development gap among regional countries, and advancing cooperation among the developing countries. — MNA/KTZH
