Regions, states Wushu competition opens in Mandalay

The opening ceremony of the 2020 Regions and States Wushu competition was held yesterday at the Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Mandalay.
The event was attended by Mandalay Region Hluttaw Deputy Speaker Dr. Khin Maung Htay and cabinet members, secretary of the Myanmar Olympic Committee and director-general of the Sports and Physical Education Department, U Myo Hlaing, deputy director-general U Kyaw Oo, principal of the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Mandalay), U Myo Myint Aung, deputy director of the Sports and Physical Education Department (Mandalay), U Khin Zaw, secretary of the Myanmar Wushu Federation, deputy director U Tun Tun Oo, referees, officials from the planning and research division of the Sports and Physical Education Department, team managers, coaches, and athletes from 13 Wushu teams from states and regions, officials with the organizing committee, invited guests, students from the Institute of Sports and Physical Education, basic education schools, private schools, and monastic schools, and Wushu enthusiasts.
At the event, acting Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Zarni Aung made the opening remarks. Then, Wushu athletes took their sports oath.
Thereafter, the acting Mandalay Region Chief Minister, Mandalay Region Hluttaw Deputy Speaker, cabinet members, and director-general and deputy director-general of the Sports and Physical Education Department greeted the athletes.
