1. For effective and rapid control of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Republic of the Union Myanmar, for implementing lasting peace and in support to the Appeal for Global Ceasefire of Secretary-General Antonio Guterres of the United Nations, the Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services has issued a statement in line with the international standards to enforce a ceasefire in the areas from 1 to 30 September 2020 except the areas where terrorist groups declared by the government take positions.
2. Due to the increasing spread rate and death toll amid second wave of COVID-19 across the country, Myanmar Tatmadaw is actively taking part in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 for the interests of country and people.
3. With the aim to increase momentum of effective and rapid containment, prevention and treatment of COVID-19 in Myanmar and restoring lasting peace, the Tatmadaw will extend the suspension of military activities from 1 to 31 October 2020, except in the areas where terrorist groups declared by the government take positions.
