Rakhine Chief Minister U Nyi Pu inspected the construction progress of Kwinlyarshay reservoir at the namesake village in Gwa Township yesterday.
The Chief Minister received an explanation of the construction process by officials in charge of the project and said they will fulfill the recommendations of the local residents.
The reservoir measures 235 by 20 feet wide and stands at 50 feet high. Total construction cost is estimated at K550 million and the construction is led by the Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department of Thandwe.
The area receives 200 inches of rainfall every year and thus the reservoir can expect to store an average of 575 gallons per year, providing sufficient drinking water to all surrounding settlements. — Mawsi, Ko Min (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
