Rural bridge under construction in Thaton Township

Mon State Government allotted K14 million of development fund for construction of a creek bridge at the entrance to Danu Village in Thaton Township, Mon State.
Construction tasks began at the creek as of 15 January. Village administrator U Than Lwin said, “This is a useful bridge for the village. The old bridge was made of wood but it is now damaged. It could be used for pedestrians and bicycles only. Our villagers are unaffordable to build a new one. So we thank the authorities for allotment of fund.”
Thaton Township Administrator U Tun Tun Naing and officials inspected progress of the bridge and urged officials to ensure durability of the bridge.
The bridge will be 40 feet long and 12 feet wide reinforced concrete. Its clearance will be 12 feet high.
Upon completion, the local people can enjoy smooth transport in the region.—Thet Oo (Thaton)
