The government has been implementing the rural road development strategic long-term plan till 2030. Various kinds of roads included in the transport infrastructures are directly and indirectly benefiting the entire national people.
In fact, rural roads are linkages among the villages, which are infrastructures of the country. Thanks to the rural roads, the national people residing in rural areas will enjoy the fruits of smooth travelling, sending domestic products to the markets in time and consequences in the improvement of health, education, social and development affairs.
Up to 2021-2022 financial year, rural roads with more than 56,000 miles in total length are passing through 52,329 villages across the nation. Among them, over 12,800 miles long rural roads can be used all the year-round, accounting for 23 per cent, whereas more than 43,000 miles long rural roads can be used in just a dry season, accounting for 77 per cent.

Hence, allotment of budgets should flow into the construction and maintenance of rural roads for their long-term existence to bring a great benefit to the rural people.

Various forms of roads such as earthen roads, gravel roads, laterite roads, asphalt roads, asphalt concrete roads and concrete roads are under the title of the rural road. These kinds of rural roads are currently stretching not only into the remote areas but also into the villages close to the cities.
Relevant departments are striving for upgrading the rural roads step by step, depending on the allotment of budgets and contributions of local people and well-wishers. As such, concerted efforts of relevant departments and local people will achieve success in the improvement of the rural roads.
The rural roads do not represent the facilities for just rural people. These symbolize the landmarks as well as arteries of respective areas. The rural roads stretching as networks create chances for both rural and urban people to meet their souls. These facilities help bump the hearts of the entire national people into each other.
Construction of new rural roads is of importance for rural people. Likewise, maintenance of existing roads is more important. Just the list of rural roads cannot actually benefit the local people. Hence, allotment of budgets should flow into the construction and maintenance of rural roads for their long-term existence to bring a great benefit to the rural people.
