“Russia-Myanmar Cooperation Strategies” forum starts in Moscow

On 22 April 2023, an official delegation from Myanmar arrived in Moscow. The delegation includes representatives of the non-profit sector, the scientific and expert community, as well as members of public and state structures of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
The forum is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The event is organized by the Russian-Myanmar Association for Friendship with the direct support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Russian Federation and the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg.
The purpose of the forum is to strengthen humanitarian, economic and socio-political cooperation between Russia and Myanmar, as well as to familiarize the Myanmar delegation with the possibilities and prospects for cooperation with the Russian state and public institutions.
The forum involves a seven-day event from April 22 to 29 in Moscow and St. Petersburg, within which several academic and expert meetings are planned, with visits to relevant state and public organizations.
On the first day of their stay in Moscow, the delegates were greeted by the Russian-Myanmar Association for Friendship vice-presidents Mr Alexander Ostrovsky and Mr Vitaly Solonetskiy.
Afterwards, a cultural programme was organized for the members of the delegation in the centre of the Russian capital, during which the participants examined the main sights of Moscow.
Additionally, Myanmar guests visited the Patriot Military Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It is a unique multifaceted complex, impressive in its scale and diversity, recently built by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
As part of the programme, the delegation members visited the Museum and Temple Complex of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, built in honour of the Resurrection of Christ and dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Additionally, Myanmar guests were shown the “guerrilla village” and the museum exposition dedicated to the special military operation, which is now taking place in Ukraine.
In the next five days, participants will have a rich program in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the purpose of which will be to strengthen the partnership between our countries in various areas of cooperation. — MNA
