Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing yesterday morning attended the ceremony of choice of arms for the 8th Intake of Graduate Female Cadet Course at the Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School in Hmawby of Yangon.
The Senior General met the female cadets individually and chose the appropriate military arms of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) depending on obedience to disciplines, their subject-wise outstanding performance, hobby and efforts.
In the afternoon, the Senior General inspected the multiple agriculture and livestock breeding farms (Danyingon) of Yangon Command.
At the briefing hall, the commander and officials reported to the Senior General on raising of layers and broilers, breeding of pigs, dairy cows, oxen and goats, cultivation of seasonal crops and perennial crops in the farm, use of cow dung as natural fertilizers and sales of products in respective markets.
In his response, the Senior General said that it is necessary to undertake the welfare tasks for the Tatmadaw members and families as well as to continue sales of surplus meat, fish, vegetables, eggs and milk to the local people for the convenience of food supplies as part of stabilizing the commodity prices in the region. In this regard, it is necessary to know the market demand in competitiveness with products of the private agriculture and livestock farms and to produce the marketable products at an appropriate rate. The Senior General stressed the need not to satisfy with the traditional livestock breeding systems, and it is necessary to seek the suggestions of the livestock breeding experts for transforming the work process into modern, systematic livestock breeding farms. A wider market and job opportunities must be created to modernize the manufacturing technologies for enhancement of the living standards of the people from the grassroots level.
The research must be done by constantly observing the advancement of agriculture and livestock techniques through online media. Successful agriculture and livestock tasks will have to fulfil the needs of welfare for the Tatmadaw members and families.
The Senior General pointed out that the farming system must be transformed into the mechanized farming system in steps, in the long run, to have high yield, minimize loss and waste and cut the costs.
The Senior General and party viewed round fish farming tasks of fish and raising of layers in the farm and left necessary instructions. —MNA
