SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing welcomed by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Nikolai A Evmenov and party together with Guard of Honour

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was welcomed by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Nikolai A Evmenov and party, currently here to join the 1st Myanmar-Russia Maritime Security Exercise (MARUMEX), together with the Guard of Honour from the Russian Pacific Fleet yesterday morning.
At MITT jetty of Thilawa Port in Yangon, the Senior General was welcomed by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Nikolai A Evmenov and Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung.
The Senior General inspected and took a salute of the Guard of Honour of the Russian Pacific Fleet to the accompaniment of national anthems of both countries.
The Senior General and party aboard the Russian naval vessel Admiral Tributs were welcomed by the commander of the naval vessel 2nd Rank Igor N Tolbatov.
The Senior General heard clarifications on machinery installed at the vessel, systems and capacity of defence weapons, installation of modern systems, and facts about the anti-submarine helicopter and asked what he wanted to know and gave necessary discussions.
The Russian and Myanmar Commander-in-Chiefs (Navy) presented a bell and an emblem to mark the exercise (MARUMEX) to the Senior General. The Senior General presented an emblem to the commander of Naval Vessel.
The Senior General and party had a luncheon hosted by the Russian Commander-in-Chief (Navy). When the Senior General left the naval vessel, the Guard of Honour saluted the Senior General.
The Russian naval vessels are led by Captain 1st Rank Aleksei Anciferov from the Russian Pacific Fleet. They will host Myanmar’s Tatmadaw cultural troupe and the Russian naval orchestra entertainment for Myanmar-Russian friendly relations, pay visits to the landmarks in Yangon, hold friendly sports competitions and join the 1st Myanmar-Russia Maritime Security Exercise (MARUMEX).
The 1st Myanmar-Russia Maritime Security Exercise (MARUMEX) will be held in the area, 85 nautical miles west of Myeik, with the participation of vessel from Myanmar Tatmadaw (Navy) and the Russian Pacific Fleet of Russia from 7 to 9 November. — MNA/TTA
