Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony to lay cornerstones for building Kengtung Manor replica near Naungton Lake in Kengtung yesterday.
The ceremony was graced by Presiding Nayaka of Kengyin Monastery in Kengtung Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Khemacara and members of the Sangha, and attended by SAC members, the Shan State Chief Minister, Commander of the Triangle Region Command, relatives of Kengtung Saopha Sao Kawng Kiao Intaleng, well-wishers, town elders, departmental officials, Shan, Lahu, Wa, Akha and Lisu ethnic people and guests.
First, departmental officials, town elders and locals welcomed the Senior General and wife with their traditional dance by playing Shan Ozi.
Then, the SAC Chairman and party led by Kengyin Sayadaw took positions at the designated places respectively and placed the cornerstones in central, eastern, western, southern and northern parts of the places. They then sprinkled scented Paritta water on the cornerstones.
Next, the event is successfully marked with the grand ceremonial gold and silver confetti.
The Chairman of the State Administration Council, wife and members asked after health issues of the Sayadaws. They inspected the facts of Kengtung Manor and left there.
The construction of the Kengtung Manor replica begun following the wishes of the relatives of Kengtung Saopha Sao Kawng Kiao Intaleng and locals. Moreover, the Mongpun Manor of Mongpun Saopha Sao San Htun and Hsenwi Manor of Hsenwi Saopha Hkun Hsang Ton Hong were renovated and Mongpun Manor building completed cent per cent while Hsenwi Manor building 60 per cent on 5 February 2021.

Moreover, the Baptist Church in Panmu Village of Momauk Township in Kachin State was damaged in armed conflicts in 2011 and repaired in its original structure according to the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services. Such renovations of the historical and religious building can show the great history of the country and support the friendliness, trust, peace and socio-economic status of the national brethren of the country.
Then, the Senior General and party went to the Thittabin Taung garden in Kengtung and inspected the resin tree (Dipterocarpus alatus) planted in the term of King Alaungphaya in 1753 and other plants.
After hearing the explanation of officials, the Senior General instructed officials to conserve the historical place and make arrangements for the travellers. — MNA
